JAM 2024: The Joint Admission Test for Masters (JAM), scheduled for February 11, will be conducted as a computer-based test for seven distinct test papers. The JAM 2024 exam will be held in two sessions. The first session runs from 9:30 am to 12:30 pm, and the second session from 2:30 pm to 5:30 pm.
The Indian Institute of Technology, Madras, is organising JAM 2024 this year.
Admit Card Details
The JAM 2024 admit card is available at the official website – jam.iitm.ac.in and was released on January 8, 2024. To download it, candidates need to enter their login credentials like enrolment ID and password online.
It is essential for candidates to bring their admit cards to the exam hall. The admit card includes details such as the candidate’s name, test code, test venue address, applied test paper, category, sub-category, etc. Along with the admit card, candidates must also carry a valid photo ID.
Exam Day Guidelines
- Candidates will have to mandatorily carry the JAM 2024 admit card
- Admit cards should preferably be printed in colour. Soft copies of admit card will not be accepted
- In addition to the admit card, students will have to take a valid ID proof in original
- Candidates should reach the exam hall as per the reporting time mentioned on the admit card
The JAM 2024 question papers for all the seven papers consist of 60 questions divided into three sections: A, B, and C, all of which are mandatory. Each test paper in JAM 2024 will comprise a mix of multiple choice questions (MCQs), multiple select questions (MSQs), and numerical answer type (NAT) questions. The exam duration is 180 minutes, and English is the only medium of examination.
Section A has 30 MCQs, with 10 worth 1 mark and 20 worth 2 marks each. Section B contains 10 MSQs, each carrying 2 marks. Section C comprises 20 NAT questions, with 10 worth 1 mark each and 10 worth 2 marks each. Negative marking is only in Section A: 1/3 marks deducted for wrong answers to 1 mark questions, and 2/3 marks deducted for wrong answers to 2 mark questions.
